District Learning Commons Leading the Way

The District Learning Commons at School District No. 57 is leading the way on decolonizing and indigenizing school library learning commons practice. This is a team effort that builds on previous work started by Monica Berra, Leona Prince and Cathy Drew. Now the questions they are asking around decolonization, indigenizing and diversifying collections has spun out into a national project involving school library professionals across Canada contributing to a toolkit that will help others see what can be done.
