Indigenous Education Leadership Table: an introduction to the IELT

May 02, 2022

IELT Discussion Group.png

The IELT is a groundbreaking collaboration between School District 57 and the territorial rightsholders on whose lands education in this area is provided.

The majority of the SD57 landmass is covered by the McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. All three parties now meet on a regular basis to ensure there is face to face respect, consultation and understanding as learning is carried out.  "Nothing about us without us" is a call to action to which the three parties are committed.

This introductory video is a first look at how this unique consultation table got underway.

Many thanks to Sonic Interactive Solutions for the video production.
