Student Registration


Changes have taken effect for Duchess Park and DP Todd area catchments beginning in the 2020-2021 school year.  Addresses in the Edgewood Elementary catchment will now belong to the DP Todd Secondary catchment beginning September 2020.  


Registration Information

All students who are new to Prince George must register at their catchment school.  If you are unsure of your catchment school click here to use our online School Locator tool.

To register your student for school the following documents are needed:

  • Birth Certificate original
  • Proof of address
  • Care Card or BC Services Card
  • A last report card if possible

Transfer to a non-catchment school

Parents may apply for their student to attend a non-catchment school through a request process that takes place from February - March each year online.  Any accepted transfers would take effect for the next school year.

  • College Heights Elementary – French Immersion program, Maximum of 40 Kindergarten Students
  • Heather Park Elementary - French Immersion program
  • Γ‰cole Lac des Bois – French Immersion Program Maximum of 60 Kindergarten Students
  • Spruceland Traditional Elementary, Maximum of 40 Kindergarten Students
  • Polaris Montessori Elementary – Maximum of 40 Kindergarten Students

Online Grade 8 Transition Process for Independent Schools

CLOSED for 2020-2021 school year

Students who currently attend grade 7 at an independent school within the SD57 school district boundaries can apply to a SD57 school for grade 8 using this process.  Applications must be made to the catchment school associated with the student's address.  The online application process will be open January to February 2021.   Details to follow.


 Online Kindergarten Registration

CLOSED for 2020-2021 school year, please visit your catchment school to register

Children whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31, 2021 are eligible to enter Kindergarten in September 2021.  The online application process for registration for the 2020-2021 school year will open in January 2021.  Details to follow.
