Northern Aboriginal Education Symposium

​The Next Aboriginal Education Symposium will be held January 29th, 2018 at the Prince George Civic Centre.

The Northern Aboriginal Education Symposium is a biennial conference that brings together all School District No.57 employees to explore innovative ways to share Aboriginal Education within their practice, classrooms and school communities. This one of a kind professional development opportunity is offered to inspire a systems approach to supporting Aboriginal Education.  Attendees are provided with concrete knowledge and skills to implement in the classroom as well as opportunities for personal and professions growth.

As our special guest, you will receive a free conference registration, breakout workshops, cultural performances, lunch and a chance to be with us as we continue to move Aboriginal Education forward together in School District No.57.

Highlights include:

  • Screening of the nationally acclaimed film "The Road Forward." And talk with writer and film director Marie Clements.
  • Monique Gray Smith author of Speaking Our Truth.
  • Afternoon breakout workshops focused on reconciliation topics and AbEd Resources to support the curriculum.
  • Cultural Performances

No worksop selection is required, workshops will be offered first come first serve until full on the day of the conference.
