SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES 2017-2018

Above is the 2017-2018 fees sheet that were handed out on the first day of school. Please note that not all fees are included on this sheet. Below are more fees that may occur.

Course Fees

There are no fees for any secondary courses.  Students who choose a project beyond the learning outcomes of a course may supply their own materials or they may be charged for materials used to complete that project (e.g. type of wood chosen for a woodworking project).

Deposits

Deposits in the following areas are required.  Upon return of the calculator, the deposit is refunded.

  • Math 12 graphical calculators  $130
  • External Credit Exams (Advanced Placement)  $30 first exam, $20 second exam

Student Services

A $10 charge for student services is used by secondary schools for activities and assistance for all students.  Examples include:

  • Student Council activities, such as dances
  • School wide events such as school spirit weeks
  • Positive behaviour incentive programs that recognize student achievements
  • Motivational speakers on topics such as accepting diversity and accepting physical disabilities, leadership, and avoiding drinking and driving
  • Graduation Ceremony
  • Student ID card
  • Payment is required if participating in school sports (one-time only charge)

These opportunities are only made possible through the student services account, and hence this charge must be paid before participation in extra curricular activities.

Upon paying the $10 Student Services fee, students will receive their student identification card.  Photos for the card are done free of charge.

Postage

Newsletters will be emailed free of charge to parents who provide email addresses.  Paper copies are available for pick up in the office. No copies will be mailed.

Yearbook

Students may choose to purchase a school yearbook for $35.  The yearbook is a student-produced annual record of people and events in and around the school.  

*March 9, 2018 is the deadline to order yearbooks. No purchases after this date. The school does not order extra yearbooks for sale.

Field Trips

Field trips, including PE, are optional.

  • PE 11   $150.00
  • PE 12   $150.00
  • PE Football Jr. and Sr.  $375.00

Students participating in field trips are expected to reimburse the school for costs, such as bussing, associated with each trip.  Students who choose to attend PE field trips are expected to pay accordingly.  Students who do not attend PE field trips can still earn the required credits to pass the course.

Valedictory Ceremonies

Most schools with grade 12 students offer a valedictory ceremony near year's end.  The participation in such ceremonies is optional.  Students who wish to participate will be expected to pay the shared cost of such a ceremony, which is $100.  The grad fee for exchange students is $50.
