Toonies for Terry Campaign and Terry Fox Run

Thursday, October 14th was our Terry Fox Run. The sun was shining while we exercised our social awareness for this very important cause.  We thank the many parent volunteers and grade 7 leadership students who helped along the route.  We thank Trustee Betty Bekkering for joining us. Our Toonies for Terry fundraising campaign is winding down.  Our goal was a Toonie for everyone in the school for an approximate amount of $450.  We have surpassed this goal.  We are at approximately $530 as of our latest count.  Ms. Bryce will now be making a personal contribution of $100 for meeting our goal.  Well done, Edgewood!

Early Dismissal October 20th, 21st, 25th, 26th - Let's Talk About Learning!
This year, October 21,21,25,26  are our Early Dismissal Days for students, parents and teachers to talk about learning.  This year things will need to be different but no less meaningful.  This communication of student learning opportunity is one of the 5 expected communications required by our District and the Ministry.  Early Dismissal is at 1:27 each of the 4 days. Busses run at their regular time. Bus students will be supervised in their classes and learning groups.  We ask parents of non-bus students to please make prior arrangement for pick up or walking home if you are able.  Thank-you.  Please let classroom teachers know these arrangements for our non-bus students. This year, as has been communicated, there are three options to connect, phone, Zoom, onsite meeting.  Letters have been sent home by classroom teachers to determine your meeting preference and availability.   Thank you for your flexibility.  If you have not heard from your child's teacher, please call the school.  Our goal is to offer choice, while also be mindful of onsite congestion and meeting everyone where they are at during this current Pandemic crisis in the North.
We highly encourage student participation, "taking with them" rather than "about them" especially for the older students.   This helps keep everyone on the same page and helps students be drivers of their learning.
