Financial Help for Post Secondary

Many graduates at Prince George Secondary School excel in Academics, Leadership & Community Service. 

We aim to provide as much assistance possible to ensure that these future leaders get access to scholarships, bursaries, grants & awards. These opportunities help and assist our polar students with their future pursuits.

Mrs. LaMarre in the counselling office can provide assistance with access to scholarships, bursaries, grants & awards.  She helps many students with applications these kinds of opportunities.

Hello Grads of 2022!

SD57 District Awards Application is now closed.
The deadline for completing your application was February 23, 2022 at 11:59pm.

There is also an instructional video included for you. 
This is a new application system and a new process for all of us, so it is very important that you schedule your time to prepare your responses, gather documents, request reference letters, etc. prior to the application deadline.

In preparation for applying for School District Awards, you will need to have a minimum of two reference letters. Some awards also require specific letters of support, or documentation of membership/participation. 

Below is a Request for a Letter of Reference form for you. This is a helpful resource for the people who are writing reference letters for you. Please complete it and provide it to your reference when you ask if they are willing to provide a reference letter for you. The information in this form will assist references with writing a comprehensive letter.

Indigenous Grads

Check out the brochure below with information about scholarships for Indigenous Students as well as links to post-secondary Institutions.  Please share with Grade 12 Indigenous learners.

BC Engineers & Geoscientists


Engineers and Geoscientists BC has several scholarships available for students entering post-secondary engineering and earth science programs. Please forward the email below along to any Career Counsellors or other educators who may know high school students entering one of these programs in BC.



Do you know a student entering an engineering or earth sciences program in fall 2022? Engineers and Geoscientists BC's Foundation offers scholarships for graduating high school students entering engineering or earth sciences undergraduate programs at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, British Columbia Institute of Technology, the University of Northern British Columbia, or engineering transfer programs in BC.



Applicants must be graduating from a BC secondary school in 2022 and entering one of the following programs:

  • Engineering degree (B.Eng., B.A.Sc., or similar) at UBC, UVic, SFU, BCIT or UNBC
  • Geoscience/Earth sciences degree (B.Sc. in earth sciences, physical geography, environmental geoscience, etc.) at a UBC, UVic, SFU, BCIT or UNBC
  • Engineering transfer (diploma, certificate, or similar) at a BC university or college


Six entrance scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, and one transfer scholarship, valued at $2,500, are available.

Beedie Luminaries


2022 Applications are now open!
We are excited to begin accepting 2022 Applications for the Beedie Luminaries Scholarship Program.
We are encouraging Grade 12 students in B.C. who are facing financial barriers to apply for one of 100+ scholarships available in 2022. Recipients will each receive up to $40,000 towards their post-secondary studies at any public university, college or trade school in B.C.
This year, in light of the labour shortage within the skilled trades sector, we would like to particularly encourage students considering a career in the trades to apply. 
Do you know of a student or students who would qualify? Please let them know about Beedie Luminaries and encourage them to APPLY!
Please note, the application period for Beedie Luminaries’ SPARK scholarship program for single parents will open in March 2022.
