Election Officers Named for School District 57

The public gets to exercise democracy, this fall, and there are fewer stronger signs of that than the naming of Election Officers.

School District 57's Board of Trustees approved the appointments of Jan Cote as Chief Election Officer and Ellen Bryden as Deputy Chief Election Officer.

These positions are determined in accordance with the Local Government Act, pursuant to Section 41(1) and (2).

According to the Act, School District 57 is to have an elected Board of Trustees numbering seven. One is designated to be from the electoral area of the Robson Valley, one from the electoral area of Mackenzie, the other five from Prince George.

The assigned date of the upcoming election is October 15, 2022. Mark that on your calendar as the day you get to mark your X on your favourite choices among the candidates who put their names forward to serve the community on behalf of public education. You may even want to run for Trustee yourself!
