School District No. 57 is honored to receive new Lheidli T'enneh flags that have been gifted to the district by the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation as recognition of the children and families who suffered and perished in Residential Schools. The new flags will be respectfully hung in all School District No. 57 schools that reside on Lheidli T'enneh territory as a reminder of the Residential School experience and the commitment of School District No. 57 to Truth and Reconciliation. We were pleased to hang the first flag at the School District No. 57 Board office in a special ceremony on Monday January 24, 2022.
We would like to thank Darlene McIntosh and Mel Aksidan for guiding us through this important moment.
