Ken MacGillivray


As the vice principal and administrator of CIDES, Ken brings decades of teaching and administration experience and has a passion for exploring technology in education.

Eric Martin

Eric teaches senior math and physics at CIDES. Before he was a teacher, Eric worked as a software engineer in the medical sciences with a focus on HIV research. Living for 3 years in South East Asia was an eye opening experience for him and through teaching English he discovered his love of teaching.

Joanne Shaw

An educator for the past 30 years, Joanne has been working with online foreign language students since 2008.  She loves seeing school-aged students and adults meet their educational goals through flexible modes of learning.  During her spare time, Joanne can be found hiking local trails and singing with the Prince George Cantata Singers.  

Megan McCleod

Megan was born and raised in Prince George and worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor on her way through to a teaching degree. She has worked for SD57 since 2011 and teaches junior and senior science for CIDES in addition to teaching Alternate Education at CLA. Megan loves travelling and experiencing new places and cultures. On “staycations” she can be found biking and skiing, or reading, crocheting, and cultivating her classroom’s plant jungle.

​James Mangan
Jim teaches Humanities at CIDES. Jim has been teaching humanities in SD57 since 2016, and has worked in both urban and rural environments. His passions include history, political studies, prog. rock music, and civic education. Jim's past work experience includes writing for the UNBC newspaper "Over the Edge."​
