To Parent/Guardian(s) of Bus Students

We would again like to thank you for your patience while we work with First Student to implement this new transportation system and provide you with an update.

A driver shortage is being experienced across Canada in many transportation industries and we have not avoided feeling the impact with our student transportation. This shortage has resulted in the necessity to combine some routes in order to transport as many students as possible and that run times may be longer than in the past.

The current route combinations were made quickly by First Student to respond to a sudden reduction in their driver complement.  The District will be reviewing routes for efficiencies and requesting adjustments as appropriate.

Unfortunately, there are still a number of routes which do not have scheduled drivers and First Student is working to fill those positions.

As additional new drivers are available First Student and the District will be working to adjust the length of combined routes to reduce some current ride times for students.

In light of these anticipated changes, moving forward all route changes will be communicated to families via email and routes will continue to be shared on school websites.

Families are encouraged to check their school websites for the most current route information.
