BC's Education Restart Plan: https://bit.ly/2z6jU8i
On Friday, May 15th, the provincial government announced plans to move into Phase 3 of BC's Education Restart Plan which will see the resuming of some in-class instruction. Parents have the choice as to whether they send their children back to school part-time beginning June 1st. The Ministry has set "density" limits of 50% for grades K-5 (2-3 days per week), and 20% for grades 6-12 (about 1 day per week), though districts and regions can propose some variance provided any delivery beyond these requirements must be within guidelines established by the Health Authority. When developed, schools will communicate specific learning schedules to parents. Please note, with the return to some direct instruction, the remote learning provision will still exist, but it will not be as robust as the current delivery model.
The province has worked with Dr. Bonnie Henry, WorkSafeBC and the Ministries of Health and Education to provide Districts with comprehensive health and safety protocols for the resumption of in-class instruction. Our District will be following each of these protocols to ensure the safety of our learns and staff. If you would like more information on these protocols, they can be found here: https://bit.ly/2Xh8mHn
